God is talking to our politicians. Wow!

God is apparently talking to American politicians in Washington.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/bachmann-claims-hurricane-earthquake-were-god-messages-politicians-155051199.html

And apparently he's angry about their fiscal irresponsibility.

So he sent the winds and rains in the form of a hurricane.

Then he still wasn't happy so he rumbled in disgust and caused an earthquake.

And the words that were coming out of his mouth were apparently these:

'Are you going to start listening to me here?' Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now.'

Wow.

God is really sticking up for us Americans.

And he really likes to talk to Michele Bachmann apparently.

He speaks to her before votes.

He spoke to her before she got married.

And he's speaking to her now.

I find this incredible.

And not in a good way.

I cannot believe a person who has talked so openly about talking to God was able to be considered for President.

Let's forget for a second that in America we have SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.

This women needs meds.

Serious meds.

She's hearing voices people.

She's having visions.

In most people this would be a sign to go to the doctor and have tests.

I don't understand why no one is putting her on a 72 hour hold.

Can you help me understand?

Why is my brain going straight down the drink?

I can't seem to remember anything.

Well anything I want to blog about.

I remember at work - but I can't blog at work.

And by the time I get home, feed the babies, eat dinner, and take the babies to the park, it's time to go to bed.

Or I read a book.

And I don't remember what it was that I wanted to blog about during the day.

Pathetic!

I guess I can catch you up on life...

Katie has leash aggression.

We're dealing with it - it's getting better.

If it's not pretty much dealt with in the next week we'll send her off to day school so a trainer can nip it in the bud.

My little Cujo...

She doesn't look mean does she?  She really isn't - but she sounds like it.  So it freaks people out.  Which makes it hard to get a person to agree to let us approach them so Katie can get over her fear.  Because that's the issue.  She's scared.  But when a person let's us approach she gets quiet and then tries to play.

After all she is only 5 1/2 months old.  Although at about 60lbs she doesn't look much like a puppy anymore.

She definitely doesn't look like this:

How in the world Stephen King managed to make a vicious St Bernard believable is beyond me.

That man is scary.

But you can't put his books down once you start them - so I don't even try because the last time I started one - I couldn't put it down and I had horrible vivid nightmares for weeks.

Guess what we are doing this week?!

Buying a house!

Here is the front view:

This was the best part of the house and the main reason why we chose it!  The sun room:

And here is a photo of the living room.

I can't wait to move in!

These are the two biggest things going on in my world today...

What's goin' on in your neck of the woods?

Books that are suppose to be fluff, but aren't...

I read a book yesterday that was suppose to be a bit of fluff - you know sex, romance, happily ever after.

I got the sex, the romance, the happily ever after, but I also got something that had a deeper meaning.

Well, if you wanted to look at it that way, and if you were a dog lover.

It was scifi - Aliens were in a war with Terrans (humans that originated from Earth) who had started a war with what they thought were push over, peace lovin' Aliens.

Turns out they were peace loving, but not push overs.

A lot of Terrans found themselves captured and sold as pets.

Well pampered pets.

Like my dogs.

Some were allowed on the couch, some not.

Some owners allowed their pets on the bed, some didn't.

They were spoiled and pampered.

There were animal cruelty officers to ensure they were being treated well and not abused.

The pets could understand some words - i.e. good boy, no, and their names, simple things like this.

The owners could understand some of what the pets were trying to communicate.

The four in the story were purchased by a wealthy person who treated them well, made arrangements for them in case of his death.

Which happened.

They were well cared for by his heir.

They didn't live as long as the aliens (like dogs don't live as long as we do).

They were treated well in their old age (they had them for about 40 years so they were well into their 60's).

And then they started dying.  3 of them died within a week of each other, and the 4th one was so distraught by it that he didn't eat or drink for days.

So they had to euthanize him.

Then there was an epilouge - by the Alien.  He talked about how he loved them, would miss them, and he wondered if he made the right choice.

The way he spoke about his pets was similar to how I felt when Gabi passed away last year.

That's when it hit me - this book could be about our pets and us.

What if our dogs were actually aware and had their own language.  We understand some of what they try to communicate, they understand some of what we tell them.

They are pampered, loved, and cared for - differently by different people.

We do euthanize when we believe it's in the best interest of the animal.

And when we love them we agonize over the decisions we make.

It made me sad.  It made me miss Gabi all over again.

It not something I expected from a fluff novel.

To think.

I read them to escape.

NOT to THINK.

I loved this book but I won't read it again.

Not like I usually do.

Bert and Ernie, Sex, and Sesame Street

I saw an article this morning that was talking about how some guy had started a petition, which about 5,500 people had signed, to say Bert and Ernie are gay and should get married on Sesame Street.

http://www.wmal.com/article.asp?id=2258901&SPID=28718

W.T.F?!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Can't we just leave one thing alone?  Can't children have just one thing that has no underlying meaning other than play nice with one another?

Do we have to bring sex into Sesame Street?!

Can't I have one thing from MY childhood that is still the same, fun loving, sweet thing that is was?

Must you taint everything with sexual meanings, political leanings, and your adult crap?

Can't Bert and Ernie just be?

Seriously what 4 year old is going to look at them and say; "Mommy, why are Bert and Ernie living in sin?  Shouldn't they be married before they go to bed and have sex?"

No.

A small child is not going to think that.  What they are thinking - what I was thinking - is wow I want to have a sleep over with my best friend too.

What's the next thing these fools are going to petition to do?

Add graphic illustrations of sex on Sesame Street?

You know just so kids know that it's o.k. and all.

If you want Bert and Ernie to have sex, leave it in your own home in your own imagination.

Leave it out of mine.

Kid's should learn about relationships and sex the same way I did.

Uncomfortable conversations with your parents (one when I was 9 that scared the shit out of me).  And romance novels.

And if you want to explore same sex relationships get the same sex romance novels.

Actually, the same sex ones are pretty good too - I highly recommend them regardless of your sexual orientation!

They are HOT, HOT, HOT!

ScyFy Serpents

I had a dream - yes another one, and yes I will continue to blog about my dreams.

I know you want to know...

Well I was dreaming this morning -

I was in a field - not sure if it was a playing field or a picnic field.

But it was a field.

And I was with my husband and apparently we just got paid.

YEAH!

Anyway, I wanted to go get some drinks.

So I asked one of my friends if he wanted to go.

He said he didn't think his girlfriend would let him...she was jealous of me.

(WTF?!)

I said what? I didn't say she couldn't come, bring her too.

Go get her and let's go have a drink!

(Clearly I haven't been drinking enough - I haven't had a toddy since Saturday and my body is rebelling subconsciously)

He said, um I don't know - I really don't think she'll allow it.

I said Go Get Her!

Then the scene switched and I was drinking coffee looking out of a picture window from the kitchen.

Of a house.

Not mine.

And there was a kid in the yard - she was two.

Don't ask me who she was or how I knew how old she was.

I have no idea.

Anyway she was near a tree and the serpent/snake, whatever, jumped out and started hissing at her.

Then she started to run, and I started to scream; "STOP RUNNING!  IT WILL ONLY CHASE YOU AND KILL YOU!  STOP!"

She didn't stop and the snake creature bit her.

A lot.

Then my little doggie Katie was in the kitchen with me growling.

At what you ask...

The freakin snake thing in the kitchen.

Looking at me.

Then there were a bunch of them running around in the yard and in the kitchen.

Then Katie started fighting them.

But they were biting me, killed my husband (hey when did he pop into this dream?) and biting Katie.

I realized that we were all going to die.

Then I woke up.

Crappy dream.

Why can't I dream about winning 500 million dollars?

And having to pay no tax on it?!

I'm just sayin...
