I LOVE HATS! HATS! HATS! HATS!

I got a new hat!!!!

I LOVE hats!

My husband is my enabler...

We went to the market - the Saturday Market in Anchorage.  http://www.adn.com/saturdaymarket/

And bought this hat - from a Russian lady.  Yes.  It's fur.  I'm not telling you what kind...but I will tell you that it's oh, so, soft!

This is me the next day on the way to Fairbanks to see my brother.  And of course I had to wear my HAT!

It was cold and rainy - the temp was about 60 (cold for the summer for me!).

My hat kept me toasty warm!  We stopped about 1/2 way at this cool restaurant and I had some cobbler and my husband had a root beer float.  TASTEE!

He started taking some photos - I think they turned out pretty good...

 We were having a blast.

I love my husband!

Vacation Time, Vacation Time

Ahh vacation...

That sweet, sweet time where there are no alarm clocks, schedules, or work to do.

Sleeping in, dinking around, poking my nose is local shops, seeing my brother.

Eating...

Oohhh the food...

Halibut, Reindeer, pancakes, eggs, and steak, oh my!

Gwennies

Humpy's

Glacier Brew House

These are my favorite places to eat in Anchorage.

This year we'll be in Anchorage and then Fairbanks.

I haven't been to Fairbanks in about eight years.  So I don't remember much about where to eat.

But I'm sure we won't have any problems finding somewhere tastee!

Only a few more weeks and we'll be enjoying the good life.

Vacation life.

Here I am!

Well I'm back from the wilds of France.

I've decided that I need to win the lottery.

The BIG Lottery.

You know, the one where you never have to work another day in your life.

Provided you do the right thing and invest your winnings, NEVER spend the principle, and live off the interest.

I'm talking about the 400 million dollar lottery.

Because if you win that then you take home about 240 million.

Invest that conservatively at 5% and that'll give you about 12 million a year in income.

70% of that (because, well taxes) is 8.4 million which is about 700,000 a month.

I can live off that, can you?

Anyway, our time in the Loire Valley was incredible.

I love this place:  http://www.chateauchallain.com/

That's why I'm blogging about it again.

I'm in love!  I want to live here forever!  Well not in France - I really just want to be able to go here whenever I want!

Those are the lions that you see when you first come into the house.  And I just realized this is the only photo I have of the foyer, one from upstairs. Well.  I guess I'm just going to have to go back to get one of the foyer from the front door because this photo doesn't even begin to let you see the beauty of the hall.

Perfect reason to go back right?!

Here is another photo

This is of the grounds - wow right.

Well that's all for now - the internet connection at the coffee shop sucks so it's taking forever to upload these.

We're in the process of trying to find a similar place in Italy for next year.

Ciao!

OMG but my Life is GOOD!

I'm in France, in the Loire Valley to be exact.

And I'm staying here:

http://www.chateauchallain.com/

Can I just say, OH MY GOD!

This place is the Fuckin' (Yes I said it) bomb!

It's everything you ever thought you would want to have in a castle stay.  I mean really.  There are stuffed LIONS in the foyer!

My bed linens are made of SILK and we have an actual wood poster bed with bed curtains.

THAT YOU CAN PULL CLOSE!

The bed is lush.

The room is beautiful.

The grounds stupendous!

And the food, the wine, and the CHEESE!

I swear to you I've died and gone to Heaven.

Heaven is here on earth.

And I'm in it.

Here are some photos.

Yes this is the actual place where I'm staying!  This is the front.

This is our room - LOVE IT!

Our sitting room - the bedroom is to the right.

View from the bedroom (the table with the umbrella was set for us - wine and snacks...).

Our bathroom - shower to the left and toilet to the right.

Wine...yum...

Loookkeee MMMEEEEE

I love my life....

Guess where I am...

Only one guess...

I'll give you a hint...

Oh yeah baby!  That's the real Effel Tower back there!

We're in France, and we're having an excellent time!

We went to the Louvre - but didn't go in, the lines were too long.

We had coffee, met up with friends and just had a great time!

Now we are in the Loire Valley staying in the most awesome place - which I will blog about tomorrow.

I'm stuffed, fat and happy.

Time for bed.

Seattle is Nice

I'm in Seattle.

I've never stayed overnight here before - I've always just flown through.

It's pretty nice - I had dinner at Anthony's on the sound last night.  http://www.anthonys.com/home.html

The food was o.k. - but I've had better.

The thing that I loved about the night was...it was a "school" night and I went out.

I didn't stay in.

I made a point to see the pier and have dinner at a locally recommended restaurant.

Can I get a Whoop! Whoop!

I'm trying to break out of the "it's a week night, I don't want to stay out late (aka 9pm!)" mode.

Baby steps!
